Unable to repay the money they had borrowed to gamble in a casino in Goa, two men decide to steal the money from the bank where one of them works.

The incident came to light after the Kalupur branch manager of Vijay Co-operative Bank reported a theft of Rs 9.75 lakh on December 30. damaged.

Later, officials found Rs9.75 lakh missing from one of the safes. Cops questioned bank staff and Patel admitted involvement in the robbery. He told cops he gave the keys to the bank to his friend Javid Sanghi (32), who stole the money from the bank.

The duo said a fortnight before the flight, Sanghi took out a loan of Rs 4 lakh from a friend and the two gambled the money at ‘Majestic Pride Casino’ in Goa.

The locker contained more than Rs 50 lakh in cash, but only Rs 9.75 lakh was stolen. The cops recovered Rs2 lakh from the two.
